In Turkey, improvements in organic agriculture took place exactly the opposite way then in European countries. In Turkey, ; as a result of demands from the consumers, farmers have started to do organic agriculture.
First demands were from European countries in 1984-85. As a result organic dried grapes and figs were cultivated in Eagean region inorder to be exported.
